Friday, September 23, 7-10pm

Kristin Cammermeyer will be presenting a new video work generated while in residency at Elephant from August 15-September 22.

Kristin Cammermeyer is an artist currently living in Los Angeles. She graduated from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2012 from the painting department. Since that time her work has evolved from the two-dimensional to multi-media site-generated installations that serve as fodder for video works. She is becoming increasingly interested in limiting her resources for the development of these projects to what is available at the site. For this current work she utilized materials from the neighborhood and donated items from the Elephant residents. Past collaborator, Michael Dillon, designed the soundscape for the piece.

This project was funded by the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant.

The exhibition will be on view Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25 from 12-8pm. On Sunday there will be a BBQ and Cocktails in the back yard from 4-8pm. The gallery will also be open Monday, September 26 by appointment.

INSTALLATION > MACHINE PROJECT, LOS ANGELES, CA (JUNE 2014)

Kristin Cammermeyer | After After and So On

As a finale to this series, Kristin Cammermeyer will be working in the space July 11th – 15th to produce a sculptural collage that uses materials from each of the performances and initiates the physical collapse and deconstruction of the Machine Project Project Space itself. Abstracted video documentation of the performances will be layered with dislocated walls and materials collected from the events. The work will serve as an archive and compression of the past performances with the real-time condition of the site at which they transpired. Closing party July 17th, 8-10pm.
